The little things do make me happy

Posted by Emi in Japan

When we were in Japan, my friends and I discovered an incredible Shampoo, Lux. It was pretty cheap at a convenience store, and we weren’t really picky about what we were going to use. We saw it, bought it, and probably didn’t expect much from it.

The humidity was really bad, so we never really had a chance to notice if it worked well or not. Our hair was frizzy and unhappy no matter what type of shampoo we used! But the smell was so nice, and once we were home, we missed it horribly.

We found some in a Japanese store recently and bought it as quickly as we could, along with conditioner. I used it yesterday, and my hair is still super clean (when it usually gets oily really fast), and sooo soft.

I don’t think my hair has ever been this soft. Plus it smells like the trip, which makes me able to picture things really easily when I close my eyes.

.. I sound like an advertisement now, but I’m just so happy about it.

Failing to Sleep

Posted by Emi in Misc

Using an old blog prompt from NaBloPoMo!

What do you do to make yourself fall asleep at night?

I’m going to have this issue in just a little bit. I need to be asleep because I have to get up early, but I’m not anywhere near tired yet.

Usually I just lay down for as long as I can and eventually get tired. If that fails, reading will sometimes work. Sometimes nothing at all works, so all I can do is lay there for hours or get up and try again later.

The biggest problem I have, for the most part, is that I start thinking about fun things and I want to go do them right away. I always have my best and funnest ideas right before I sleep, and I hate it.

This is the exact issue I have right now. I thought, “I should update my blog!” … And here I am, after about an hour of looking at prompts, updating plugins, deleting spam and generally having fun.

Sleep, why do you have to be so necessary?

Graduation

Posted by Emi in Misc

When I was in the ninth grade, I dropped out of high school. I won’t make excuses for it, but I will say that I know now that it had to do with social anxiety.

I spent a few years doing nothing, and then finally enrolled in an Internet based program. I spent years working on classes, and realized really fast that just because I had the freedom to work whenever I wanted, it really didn’t make it any easier.

Some classes were so easy that I finished almost entirely in a few days, some were so hard it took the full amount of time given to get through. .. And of course, some were so boring, I procrastinated the whole time, only to rush at the end.

Four years ago, all of my friends my age graduated high school. Recently, a lot of them graduated college.

I just finished up my last two classes and will be getting my high school diploma soon, and I’m really proud myself.

I did it. ☆

Card Games

Posted by Emi in Misc

I’m really wanting to play a TCG, but most of my favorites have disappeared. So because of it, Zanny and I started to work on Holiday Shinjuku TCG again! It was down for a year as I worked on school and got a job and things, but now that it’s all evening back out, we’re creating new decks and things.

We’re hoping to reopen it within the month or early next month. I really missed doing webdesign related things, so it’s a really nice change.

I hope I can find another fun one to play too! I’m thinking about the newer Pokemon one, hmmm. And I’ll definitely go back to La Musica, but I still have to sort through my thousands of cards.

I can’t believe I’ve been playing these cards games for so long now!
